National Geographic.... Suburban Style

I love nature. Not enough to move to a cabin in the the middle of nowhere permanently as I have this strange need to be around people and things, but I love it none-the-less. Anyway, these are the things I learned today on my suburban style nature walk next to the river:

A bald eagle soaring over the water takes my breath away... and makes me grab my cell phone to call my mom because she will truly appreciate what I am seeing.

Turtles sunning themselves on logs make Ella laugh.

Groundhogs are the cutest when they are living along the river bank and not in your yard.

Cardinals are my favorite bird.

I slow down and breath deeper when walking by honeysuckle.

Tulip trees have flowers. I know, I know. I grew up in Indiana where the Tulip Tree happens to be the state tree. We actually had a Tulip Tree in our yard at my childhood home; however, I never remember it having flowers.

Ahhhhh.... there is nothing quite like a great walk on a beautiful morning to lift your spirits and remind you that God's creation is magnificent. Everything is so unique and every detail perfectly set in place. Life is amazing.
