Welcome to our blog! As an Army family, we are not usually stationed anywhere close to our relatives and often have to leave behind dear friends every time we move. This blog is our way of keeping our family & friends in "the loop". Check back every few weeks to see what is happing in our lives!

Superwoman I Am Not

I was recently asked the question, "How do you do it all?"... obviously I need to fill you all in on a little secret: I only post the projects that are finished, not the dozens that have been in the works for way too long. Here is what you don't see in a post:

  • I am a perfectionist, so each project gets much thought and planning before I begin.
  • I am perpetually behind on returning emails and phone calls. Sometimes months behind. Somehow my dear friends and family still like me (or at least they pretend to like me)!
  • I always have about six dozen project ideas in my head at a given time.
  • I have had an Army Star quilt cut out, but the blocks not put together, for close to one year. I can't get myself to start it when I have two unfinished quilts (see below).
  • My Civil War quilt is over four years in the making ~ finally pieced, but not yet layered.
  • I have been hand quilting a Buttercup quilt (originally for Maddie, now for Ella) for over three years.... maybe even four now that I think about it.
  • I have a Summer skirt I made for myself back in May that is still without a zipper, waistband, and hem.
  • The girl's scrapbooks haven't been updated since last Easter.
  • I still have "quilted" Christmas ornaments to make for my tree... I wanted them to be done last Christmas.
  • Have I mentioned I want to learn to knit?
  • I know I am a stay at home mom, but I never feel like I get enough quality time with my two sweet girls.
  • The list of books that I want to read keeps growing, but my reading time keeps shrinking.

That is all for now. I'm off to make thank you cards and peach butter.

You're still superwoman, Connie. :)
I'm completely with you on the unfinished projects and ideas lists...I guess that's why we're never bored. :)

I SO relate! Everyone says the same comments to me too and I neglect to let them know that I have a baby coming any day now and her quilt has been sitting unfinished for months while I start all the other projects floating around in my head!!
