I am by no means "Heloise", but I have found these few tips to be very helpful in my kitchen. Make fun if you will, but you're life will be easier!
I love my spice cabinet! I use a black permanent marker to write the contents of the spice container on the bottom. If they are standing up, you have to take everything out to find what you need, so I lay them on their side ~ they take up less room and are easy to get to.
Celery
always goes bad in my house before I get a chance to use it. I have tried everything, from special containers to soaking them in water. Nothing works for me but this! Wash and trim the celery, then wrap it in aluminum foil. It keeps for weeks!

I will have to try the foil tip. Very interesting. We never use ours up in time either! You should see my spice arrangement I LOVE IT. I just organized my pantry and need to take pics. I'm in love!!
