Welcome to our blog! As an Army family, we are not usually stationed anywhere close to our relatives and often have to leave behind dear friends every time we move. This blog is our way of keeping our family & friends in "the loop". Check back every few weeks to see what is happing in our lives!

January 2007 In A Nutshell

It's hard to believe that this is the last day of January! Time seems to be flying, which I have mixed emotions about. On one hand, it means one month closer until Michael returns from Iraq, but on the other hand, my two sweet little girls are getting older! What can one do?!

Fort Riley received around 7 inches of snow the weekend of January 20th - the good snow that is great for building snowmen! We spent the morning sledding with our friends, building snowmen and snow forts, and throwing lots of snowballs. Both girls had to be drug into the house as they would have stayed outside and played until they turned blue!

Madison kept herself busy with Brownies (including selling Girl Scout Cookies!), piano, and lots of reading! Her favorite books right now are the "Junie B. Jones" series. Ella learned lots of new ways to get into trouble this month. She pushes the kitchen chairs over to the counter and helps herself to whatever happens to be on them (including the nectarine she's eating in the picture!). She "sings" - the words aren't clear, but you can pick out the tune!

Keep checking back for more updates!
